I joined a global conversation with leaders at Syracuse University School of Information Studies and the Internet Society on the sidelines of the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly to discuss the role that smart cities, artificial intelligence (Al), and community Internet technologies can play in accelerating the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) across Africa:

• The development of community Internet networks to connect underserved communities to improve access to education and healthcare.

• The use of smart city technologies to improve urban planning, transportation, and good governance.

• The application of Al to address challenges such as poverty, hunger, and disease.

This free event is open to all interested stakeholders, including government officials, businesses, civil society organizations, and the general public.
